Monday before prom...
First we had to put string and fishing line across the gym to make a "ceiling" for the fabric and lights.
We strung white lights across the eating area.
In the middle of the week, we had a school wide assembly about fire safety. These are all our students K-12.
Some students got to pie staff members in the face!
Back to decorating... draping the gossamer fabric across the dance area.
Hanging gossamer across the eating area.
Getting the "walls" ready.
The "ceiling" was done, so we started to put up the walls made of trash bag material.
Most of the walls here were put up around the dance floor.
We duct taped the bottom of the walls to prevent people from crawling under.
Setting up tables the day before. We were expecting a crowd of 100 people.
Setting up the food tables.
The entrance into prom.
The prom royalty...
The entrance into the dance area.
Took a break and made some homemade pizzas with friends.
Got my room organized and boxes labeled to have a smooth clean-up after prom.
In the kitchen, preparing the food trays.
Gym lights off and stars glowing.
We have our very own legitimate DJ from the village.
My prom date.
A teacher friend and I took a classic "mirror picture" in the bathroom.
I got plenty of dancing in, chaperones can dance too.

Prom King and Queen
A group picture of the Class of 2013.
Making more punch in the kitchen.
The last hour of the night we ran out of liter bottles, so we cracked open individual cans.
The dance ended at 1am and we were packed and cleaned up by 1:55am! It was kind of crazy to me that it took 15+ hours throughout the week to decorate, and it took less than an hour to break it down.
