Bonfire and the start of Cross Country

Last week I flew back from my training in a 6 seater C-207.

I saw four moose from the plane!  The picture is blurry because it was raining.

The teachers had a bonfire last weekend down at the shore of the Yukon River.

An old friend and a new friend.

Spaghetti with Moose-Marinara Sauce
2 lbs ground moose
1 can Hunt's tomato sauce
1 can diced tomatoes, undrained
1 small can tomato paste
1 Tbsp diced onions
1 tsp salt
1 tsp italian seasoning
1 tsp garlic salt

Cook meat with seasonings and onions, then add tomatoes.

We started Cross Country practices this week.

On Friday, we taught the Cross Country kids how to play Ultimate Frisbee.  We ran a half mile out to the old airport runway and played a game.  They caught on pretty quick, but the wind kept throwing the frisbee around.

Stretching at the end of practice.

We walked a mile to Dave's store along the shore of the slough.

I found some pictures on Nathaniel's phone from our trip to Anchorage.
Here are more pictures from the Alaska Wildlife Conservation Center.
