Soccer and Skiing with a Shrew

Elementary Intramural's kicked off their first ever soccer game on Friday.
The kids played 3 on 3 since our gym is so small.

That same afternoon, we went on another cross country ski through the fresh layer of snow.
While we were going down a trail, Nathaniel saw this tiny little thing bouncing on top of the snow.  He picked it up, and at first we thought it was a mouse, but later found out it was a "shrew" (which is part of the mole family).

So, Nathaniel picked it up and it started scampering all around his jacket.  It finally nestled  under his hood and rode there for about a mile.

We skied out to the Yukon River.

It rode the rest of the way back in Nathaniel's jacket pocket.

We named him "Drew the Shrew."
