Graduation 2014

This year we had eight seniors graduate high school.

My upperclassmen helped out with the decorations.  Here's how we made the "2014" numbers.
We used two flat cardboard boxes and traced the numbers with the projector.

Then cut the numbers out with scissors.

We painted the numbers purple (one of our school's colors).  This project took less than an hour.

Meanwhile, the guys climbed on the ladders and covered the backdrop with black paper.

First layer of black paper.  Later they went back and covered up all the seams with more paper.

We poked holes in the cardboard with scissors and hung them with fishing line.

Nathaniel tied rubber bands around the ends of each gossamer loop.

The graduates walked down the middle of the gym to get up to the stage.

The guys wore purple, the girls wore white, and the GED night school students wore maroon.

After the ceremony, the graduates lined up in a receiving line so people could walk by and congratulate them.  We also played a slideshow with the seniors' baby pictures.
