Prom 2014 was a success! Here are some pictures of the event from start to finish.
Nathaniel was in charge of Prom this year, so he started decorating on Thursday.
Lay out the gossamer fabric ceiling. First, they wove fishing line about across the gym.
A group putting together the archway for the entrance to the dance floor.
A group helped put together the star backdrop.
Looping the gossamer fabric over the fishing line.
The star backdrop came as a kit. It took all day Thursday to assemble it.
The dance floor ceiling almost done.
The eating area ceiling.
We used black plastic walls to create a dance floor.
Stringing white lights around the eating area. We turn all the lights off in the gym, so these lights help create soft lighting.
The girls stringing lights, while the guys continue with the plastic wall around the eating area.
The day-of set up.
Welcome to Prom! The kids paid, voted, and got a pair of these cool shades.
The eating area. The place totally transforms when the lights are off.
Just being goofy.
Punch, veggie trays, meat and cheese trays, fruit trays, and cookies.
Playing in front of the black light.
Dancing to the "Cupid Shuffle."
The chaperones got plenty of dancing in too.
The three stooges... I mean the hallway patrol.
I wore my kuspuk to Prom because we have shipped home all of our clothes except for a few items.
Most people come on four-wheelers, so the girls "get ready" in the bathroom.

At 10pm we locked the front doors and counted the royalty ballots.
Happy helpers
Not only do the students attend prom, but it is tradition here that the whole family attends. So, many families where taking their photo in front of the backdrop.
Some of the coolest ladies I know up here.
Dancing with friends.
Everyone squeezes into the dance area to take pictures of the prom royalty crowning.
The Junior Prince and Princess, and the Senior King and Queen traditionally share a slow dance.
The just became the celebrities of the night.
