We had a beautiful Easter Sunday, here are some pictures from our walk around the village.
Stepping over sewage pipes
Hands on your hips...
...that's better.
Posing at the old airport
On top of a gravel pile, the (old) school in the background
the old airport runway
a lot of beavers live out in these smaller sloughs (this is where Nathaniel got his beaver last year)
This stream was the "trail" we cross country skied on just a few weeks ago.
She discovered her shadow and had fun chasing it all the way back.
Homemade Tortilla Chips
So chips at the store can cost anywhere from $7 to $11 a bag. Our friends had extra tortillas that needed to be used, so I tried out making these chips.
{Ingredients: tortillas, deep fryer (oil), sea salt, optional seasoning like Ranch}
Cut the tortilla into 6-8 chips. (They shrink a little when fried)
Cook about 8-12 chips at a time.
I used the "deep fry" setting. So I cooked the chips 90 seconds on each side.
Place onto a plate with paper towel to soak up excess oil. While still hot sprinkle with sea salt.
Optional: shake on some seasonings (Ranch)
Enjoy!
